Every lawyer’s favorite on-campus housing has gotten a face lift. See the results of the yearlong renovation of the student rooms, part of which are now known as the Charles T. Munger Residences in the Lawyers Club. Designed to maintain the architectural integrity of the Law Quad while providing modern upgrades, the renovations include revitalized living spaces and common areas.
 
You’ll also tour South Hall, which was dedicated in September 2012. The building features classrooms for small seminars as well as large lectures, the Jeffries Student Lounge, the Miller Canfield Corner, and offices for faculty, clinics, and administrative units.

Who Are We?: A Report on the Results of the Michigan Law Alumni Survey

Michigan is the only American law school that regularly has surveyed its alumni about their careers. After an eight-year hiatus, Michigan Law recently resumed this life/job satisfaction survey last year.  This year the classes of 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000, and 2010 will be polled.  Prof. J. J. Prescott will review initial survey findings and engage the audience in a lively discussion regarding the changes in alumni lives and careers.
 
 
Faculty Speaker: Professor Michael Barr
2-3 P.M.

Professor Barr will speak about his forthcoming book, Five Ways the Financial System Will Fail Next Time.  Prof. Barr is a former clerk to Justice Souter.  He is a leading national expert on financial institutions, and formerly served as U.S. Department of Treasury - Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions.  He was key architect of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.  In addition to serving as a Michigan Law professor, he currently is a nonresident senior fellow at the Center for American Progress and the Brookings Institution.
 
 
Distinguished Alumni Award Presentation

A new tradition continues at Michigan Law: the presentation of the Distinguished Alumni Award. The award recognized extraordinary alumni who, through making an exceptional impact on their professions, communitites, and/or Michigan Law, have exemplified the values and ethos of the University of Michigan Law School.
 
The recipients for 2015 are Prof. Tom Kauper, JD '60, and Yoichi Yamakawa, MCL '69.

Reunion 2014 – Class Dinners

Class dinners are the heart of the reunion weekend. A class photograph will be taken during the evening, and Dean West will stop by to greet each reunion group.  Appetizers, dinner and cocktails, beer and wine are included in the event price.  Class dinner attire is "business dressy".
