David R. Shaub has been in private practice since graduating from the University of Michigan Law School and is the managing partner of Shaub & Williams LLP, located in West Los Angeles, California. The firm specializes in international business and intellectual property law, focusing upon patents and trademarks, finances, licensing, and infringement litigation. The firm specializes in high technology, including software systems, semi-conductor manufacture and materials, clean technology, and biotechnology. Shaub is an experienced intellectual property and business litigator and has a sub-specialty in patent and transnational litigation, having litigated over 1,000 cases and tried over 100.
For the past four years, Shaub has spearheaded a pro bono program at the firm which offers Michigan Law School International Transactions Clinic students an opportunity to work with its attorneys on selected private projects that have a strong public benefit component.
Shaub is admitted to practice in California, and the on U.S. District Courts of California, the Ninth Circuit and the Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He received his bachelor's degree in mathematics in 1958 and his JD in 1960.
