Rodgers, Michelle

Shelley Rodgers is the chief communications officer at the University of Michigan Law School. Prior to joining the Law School, she served in various public, nonprofit, and private sector positions in the higher education policy and legal industries. Most recently, Rodgers was communications director at Dickstein Shapiro LLP, one of the nation's largest law firms, where she led the firm's strategic communications function, including multichannel marketing, external and internal relations, executive communications, crisis and reputation management, and social media, among other programs. A Michigan native, Rodgers's career began as a congressional page in the U.S. House of Representatives. For many years she worked in Washington, D.C., as an advocate for nonprofit higher education associations focusing on student access, financial aid, admissions, privacy, and enrollment issues. She holds a master of public administration degree from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and earned her bachelor of arts degree from The George Washington University.
