Andrew Stumpff is a shareholder of the Ann Arbor law firm Stevenson Keppelman Associates, where he practices employee benefits and executive compensation law. He also teaches Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation in the LLM in Taxation program at the University of Alabama Law School. He was previously an associate and then partner at the New York firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell, where he focused on the employee benefits aspects of corporate and financial transactions. Earlier in his career, Stumpff served as an assistant branch chief in the IRS Office of Chief Counsel. He is a former co-chair of the Employee Benefits Committee of the New York State Bar Association Tax Section, and is a fellow of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel. He is the author of, among other things, Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation, a casebook published in 2011 by Foundation Press. He earned an AB in mathematics from Washington University in 1983 and a JD from the University of Michigan Law School in 1986, where he served as article editor of the Michigan Law Review.
