4.This section of the course, seminar, or clinic fulfills the law upper-level writing requirement (LUWR) for JD students and the research requirement for LLM students.  EXCEPTION—Fall Starters who take the upper class course/seminar as the first-year elective do not fulfill the law upper-level writing requirement (LUWR) for JD students.

35.Winter Term--First-year students (Fall Starters) cannot elect this course or seminar as the first-year elective.

179.#505 CHINESE LAW & LEGAL INSTITUTIONS: Because this class will be taught by Professor Howson remotely from California using video conferencing technology any JD student who has not yet completed 28 credits is not eligible to take this class for credit, but the professor does welcome students to sit in on the class, space permitting. LLMs are eligible to take this class but should refer to footnote #180.

180.#505 CHINESE LAW & LEGAL INSTITUTIONS: Because this class will be taught by Professor Howson remotely from California using video conferencing technology LLM students who intend to sit for the New York bar examination may not take this class for credit towards their degree, but the professor does welcome students to sit in on the class, space permitting.
