This course focuses on the regulation of health care providers and plans, with special emphasis on the changes made in the new health care reform legislation. The class will cover professional and occupational licensing and regulation (including nursing and both allopathic and alternative/complementary/integrative medicine), institutional licensing and regulation (hospitals, nursing homes, etc.), commercial health insurance, ERISA, managed care regulation, and federal antitrust law as it applies to the health care industry.
