Winter 2011 Class Descriptions

As of 5/23/2018 5:32:43 AM

To learn to negotiate effectively, you must negotiate, observe, critique, and consciously apply effective strategy and skill. This course introduces student to the science, the art, and the practice of negotiation, through a sequenced series of simulation exercises. Each class session is lengthy to accommodate increasingly complex negotiations, debriefing results and discussion. Course readings introduce significant negotiation literature and theory that inform effective practice. If possible, law students work with "real clients" to negotiate settlement of a complex business dispute or divorce in one major exercise toward the end of the course. Students will be evaluated based upon class participation, journal entries, and possible video submission and analysis.
